Free Home Delivery

If you can’t get out, we’ll bring your prescription refill to your door. This service is FREE and convenient. Just ask for FREE HOME DELIVERY when you call us or use our online refill service.

We have been pleased to offer free prescription home delivery to our customers in Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas. It’s just one of the many services that The Boardwalk Pharmacy offers in its effort to provide exceptional customer service.

Medication Therapy Management

A Medication Therapy Management Program is a free service that The Boardwalk Pharmacy offers to members who have a number of high-cost prescription drugs. Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long Term Care says if you are 3 or more chronic medications, you qualify and will benefit one-on-one interview between the pharmacist.You will be invited to participate in this program designed for your specific health and pharmacy needs. You may decide not to participate, but it is recommended that you take full advantage of this covered service if you qualify and are asked to participate.

Tip: Make sure you bring all your medications (which includes prescription, over the counter, natural/herbal, inhalers, creams/ointment, ear/eye drops etc.)

Anticoagulation Management

Our patient-centered team of pharmacists can work under a medical directive from your physician to provide anticoagulation service (which includes both INR testing and warfarin dose management services).

Blood Pressure Monitoring

The Boardwalk Pharmacy offers a blood pressure monitoring service for its patients. It is a great way to monitor the effectiveness of blood pressure medications.  Recording your readings and taking them to your doctor’s office is a great way for the family doctor to monitor pressure changes that may occur between office visits.

Tips to take a good blood pressure reading

  1. Measure your blood pressure ONLY when you are relaxed. Do NOT measure your blood pressure if you are sick or stressed
  2. Measure your blood pressure after your bowels and bladder are emptied
  3. Wait two hours after eating a large meal before you take your blood pressure
  4. Wait 30 minutes after drinking caffeinated beverages and smoking before you take your blood pressure
  5. Take your blood pressure in the morning and evening before your blood pressure medications
  6. Sit in a chair that supports your back and sit beside a table that supports your arm
  7. Your arm should be positioned so the center of the cuff is at heart level
  8. Keep your feet flat on the floor
  9. The cuff should be placed against your skin and not a sleeve
  10. Rest for 5 minutes prior to taking a reading
  11. Take two readings approximately 1-2 minutes apart
  12. Record your readings

Diabetic Education

Take advantage of The Boardwalk Pharmacy’s multi-leveled diabetes care program which includes free education on your medication, blood glucose monitoring, glucometers and alternative medications.

We will provide glucometer training and targets for blood glucose, as well as diet and lifestyle plans for newly diagnosed patients. We will work with your other healthcare providers (family doctor, endocrinologist, diabetes care team) to optimize your glycemic control – and adjust therapy if needed. We also carry a full range of diabetic supplies e.g. glucometers, tests strips, and needles as well as insulin pump equipment.

Delivery Schedule Details

Patients must fill out a refill form by 12pm LATEST to get same-day delivery in the evening (4 - 8 pm).
Anyone who fills out a form after 12 pm will be eligible for next day delivery.
There is a 6 pm cut off for next day early delivery (12 to 4 pm).
